Two weeks after being readmitted to the hospital, Mitch has weathered another storm and is doing well. His difficult breathing and constant coughing have improved. The doctors have not been able to discern the source of the lung infection that has caused all these challenges but they are encouraged because he is feeling so much better.
His progress toward transplant is dependent upon his healing from the current challenges.

- I was diagnosed on May 25, 2007 with AML (Acute Myeloid Leukemia) while living in Los Angeles, CA. After undergoing 6 rounds of chemotherapy at the LA County General Hospital, I moved back to my home in Spokane, WA fully expecting to remain in remission. Unfortunately, the leukemia came back and was discovered on March 17th, 2008. I was admitted to Sacred Heart Hospital (in Spokane) and given the news that I needed a bone marrow transplant in order to beat this thing. I will begin the transplant process at the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance on June 17th, 2008. I am no longer single after marrying my beautiful wife, Chelsea on August 2nd at the University of WA Medical Center. We are looking forward to a great future and long life of ministry once this is behind us. I am totally committed to Jesus Christ, my Lord and Savior and love to serve him especially ministering to youth (junior high and high school students.) During this entire process of battling the cancer, my Scripture focus has been 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18: "Always be joyful. Never stop praying. Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus." God is faithful!
